Based on work we've been doing, that is, recording all the finalists for a given art prize in a given year, we've found that art prize exhibitions have a repeat rate of artists selected for the finalists' exhibition of between 8 and 20%, across multiple years.

For example, according to our statistics, 98 artists have appeared in the Mosman Art Prize on two or more occasions, or 14.9 percent of all finalists. The Portia Geach Memorial Award has a repeat rate of 19 percent and the Paddington Art Prize 8.7 percent.

* Note: We have analysed finalists from the past 3-5 years and the figures are accurate for the data we've collected, however the actual number may vary across a larger range of years.
