Bundanon residencies are made biennially, with set dates for each annual placement.

Applications open 1 March 2026 - close 30 June 2026.
Applicants will be notified by the end of August.
This residency provides studio accommodation at Bundanon, an artist's retreat in a bush setting in the Shoalhaven, as well as a $2000 stipend to assist with expenses.
Accommodation: Fern Apartment and Studio. The Fern Apartment has one bedroom with a queen -size bed and bathroom. The kitchen is shared with one other apartment. The adjoining studio and sitting room includes a work table, easel and chairs. The apartment is wheelchair accessible.
Eligibility: Any Australian resident is eligible to apply. Preference is given to emerging and mid-career artists, to help develop their careers.
Criteria: Applicants should demonstrate talent and commitment to developing the skills of drawing and painting, using traditional materials such as chalk, ink, graphite, silverpoint, pastel, watercolour, gouache or oil paint. Applicants must be self-sufficient in being able to reach Bundanon and to self-cater.
Applications for the Bundanon residency will automatically qualify for an application for a development grant, so there is no need to make a second application.
