The fellowships are offered every two years - next due in 2014.

The Wesfarmers Arts Indigenous Fellowship will be awarded every two years to two Indigenous Australians to complete a project of their choice. The Fellowship award is $50 000 for a project in a Fellow’s own field of expertise or interest and of value to the National Gallery of Australia. It may encompass any aspect of visual arts management—marketing, finance, print and online publishing, digital asset management, sponsorship and fundraising, curatorial, project management, education, conservation, public programs, human resource management, governance, retail etc.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the Wesfarmers Indigenous Fellowship, you must:
  • identify and be accepted in the community as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • be over 18 years old
  • be able to travel to and stay in Canberra for a component of the Fellowship
  • have experience in and commitment to the field of the project
  • be willing to be photographed and interviewed to promote the program in ongoing marketing campaigns
  • not be enrolled or undertaking tertiary studies directly related to the proposed project.
