2022 was the last year for the Tom Malone to be hosted by the AGWA. Updates will be made when advised.

Initiated by Elizabeth Malone in 2003 as a tribute to her late husband and glass enthusiast, Tom Malone. The prize, which is run by the Art Gallery of Western Australia, is an annual acquisitive prize open to glass artists throughout Australia and is one of the most prestigious glass awards.

The Prize is judged on a rotating basis. In alternate years works are sent to the Gallery and judged by a panel. In intervening years the judges make a series of studio visits to short-listed entrants. This combination of judging methods enhances the Gallery's connections with the Australian glass community, ensuring strong links are maintained with those making the best work in this fascinating medium.

Selection: The Gallery will make a shortlist of approximately ten works from supplied images. Shortlisted works will be freighted to the AGWA for consideration by the judging panel.
