The Homiens Art Prize

Whether you are an emerging artist seeking a definitive career launchpad or an established professional, the Homiens Art Prize represents a meritocratic and prestigious gateway to significant industry recognition.

As a premier international initiative awarding over $12,000 in annual unrestricted funding, our non-acquisitive (ownership retained by the artist) prize serves as a catalyst for measurable professional growth.

Eligibility:

Open to all artists and art forms. Works completed in any year are eligible. Prizes: This round, 3 winning artists and 12 finalists will exhibit with Homiens as part of our seasonal exhibition program.

Each winning artist receives an unrestricted cash award of $1,000, may participate in our optional artist interview series The Art of Art: Interviews, and may request a letter of recommendation from our jurors.

Up to 200 highly commended artists per round are celebrated across our media (including our website which receives 100,000+ annual visitors, and our extensive mailing list). Each entrant to the Homiens Art Prize may request a participation certificate which can be used to contribute towards a demonstration of professional participation in the art industry. Further Initiatives:

Our prize additionally offers international visibility via exciting features such as our curated Meet the Artists initiative and our Promoted Artists program. “Thank you and the judges so much—it truly means a lot to me. I am incredibly grateful to have been chosen as a winner of the Homiens Art Prize.” Maayan Sophia Weisstub, Winner of the Homiens Art Prize, Fall 2024. Selected for Next at Christie’s exhibition (Christie’s London), Shortlisted finalist for the Robert Walters Group UK New Artist of the Year Award, and the John Ruskin Art Prize (Trinity Buoy Wharf). “I just wanted to thank you for including me in the Meet the Artists initiative. Thanks again for all your support as well as the very complimentary Letter of Recommendation. I have recently won an award local to me here in the UK (2025 Cass Art x Phoenix Studio Award) and feel that your support probably helped towards the success of my application.” Laurence Tidy, Meet the Artists, Highly Commended in the Homiens Art Prize, Summer 2024. “I value the thoughtful way Homiens supports artists and creates space for considered, process-driven practices to be seen.” Quin de la Mer, Highly Commended in the Homiens Art Prize, Summer 2025.
