Sculptures in the Garden, Mudgee Acquisition Prize

Sculptures in the Garden is an annual sixteen day sculpture exhibition. It takes place in the Rosby Vineyard gardens in Mudgee and draws established and emerging sculptors from across Australia to display their work.

The exhibition has grown consistently over the last decade with sculptures received from all over Australia. Last year's exhibition saw over 300 sculptures exhibited and 171 sculptures sold. Sales including commissions totaled $380,000.

For the event this year we are planning:

  • To reinstate interviews with exhibiting artists
  • To run a series of sculpture demonstrations for visitors to enjoy
  • To hold our opening night VIP event as well as trial other evening events to give more potential buyers the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition outside normal opening hours.

Prizes:

  • Sculptures in the Garden and Mid-Western Regional Council's acquisition prize - acquisitive prize $30,000
  • Friends of Sculptures in the Garden Acquisition Prize -  acquisitive prize $10,000
  • Fernside Pastoral Acquisition Prize - acquisitive prize $10,000
  • Buchanan Mudgee Hospital Prize - acquisitive prize $5,000
