To be eligible to apply, you must be within the first 8 years of your professional practice as a visual artist. Note: For the purpose of this Fellowship, professional practice is generally considered to start with the public presentation of an artist’s work in a professional arts context (for example, a solo or group exhibition at a commercial, public or contemporary art space, but not including student exhibitions).
You must also be:
- an Australian citizen currently resident in NSW;
- or hold a permanent residence visa and be currently resident in NSW.
Note: If you are temporarily overseas or outside of NSW, you may still apply provided that you can demonstrate that NSW is your primary place of residence and that you are otherwise eligible
The Fellowship funds are intended to be used towards costs associated with a self-directed program of professional development. Eligible costs include but are not limited to: travel, accommodation, living expenses, fees, research costs and art materials.
