Mount Eyre Vineyards from The Hunter Valley NSW, in association with Rex-Livingston art dealer, Sydney, initiated the Mount Eyre Vineyards Art Prize in 2009. This unique partnership gives entrants the chance to win the first prize of $8000 and other prizes, exhibit their artwork in a respected commercial gallery and further, the potential for publishing the winning artwork on a wine label (If suitable) for a limited edition wine release made exclusively by Mount Eyre Vineyards.
The prize is open to painters, sculptors, photographers and artists working in new media and is not genre specific.
Now in its fifth year, the Mount Eyre Art Prize offers entrants the chance to win a First Prize of $8000 and a Second Prize of $2000, and exhibit their artworks at Rex-Livingston Art Dealer’s respected commercial gallery.
This exhibition opportunity offers proven sales potential and the winning artwork to be considered for publishing on a limited edition wine label (if deemed suitable), produced exclusively by Mount Eyre Vineyard. The 2012 First Prize winner, Doria Fusun Saglam, has enjoyed notable coverage from the prize exhibition and of course, the benefits of the $8000 prize money.
The Second prize winner, awarded to Claude Jones (NSW), experienced further exhibition success with acceptances to numerous art prize exhibitions. Past entrants, including Matt Bromhead, Tanya Stubbles and Annabelle Josse, have also gained additional exhibition opportunities and sales through the gallery’s client base
