Entries are now open for RQAS's newest exhibition Materially Designed! The Interplay of Fashion and Art will be explored in this RQAS Exhibition and Fashion Parade. Welcome to our exhibition and fashion show, where we celebrate the exciting interplay between fashion and art. This event showcases the creative talents of our local artists and fashion brands, as well as the importance of sustainable wardrobes.
We are thrilled to have activist and visionary Jane Milburn as one of our featured speakers, who will inspire us to consider the impact of our fashion choices. Get ready to be inspired by the fusion of fashion and art.
We invite artists to submit their creations for this inaugural exhibition and fashion show with a difference! Information about Entering Show:
Section one is the Exhibition which will run from 4th August to the 3rd September, and will be accepting works in a variety of 2D & 3D mediums. The categories are very broad and we expect see a lot of different interpretations on the theme in both traditional and experimental media. Section 2 will be a Fashion parade that will be held at the opening night on Saturday 5th August.
The Awards Night for both sections will be held on Friday 11th August. Section 1- Call For Entries Fabric Design (A) Artworks submitted in this section may be already printed on fabric, a 2D artwork or a digitally printed design. Any media or theme is allowed, & all entries must be mounted/framed and ready to be displayed on the wall. 2D Work (B) Including drawings, paintings, textiles and other 2D artworks. 3D & Sculptures (C)
Non-wearable sculptures with a fashion theme which will be displayed on plinths during the exhibition. Jewellery (D) A collection can include up to 5 pieces for a single entry fee. Section 2: Fashion Parade Wearable Art & Clothing Design (E) Artworks submitted in this section will be on show during the fashion parade.
