Up to six scholarships worth $20,000 each are on offer to aspiring young artists who have a passion for travel in order to enhance their talents. Please forward this on to your students, colleagues, members who are between the ages of 21-35 years old and looking to further their career through travel.

John Chisholm Marten set up the scholarship programme through his will in 1964, and the scholarships have been awarded since 1975. John Marten was a theatrical artist who understood the importance of travel to boost the experiences of aspiring artists.

Applicants must be Australian born and be available for travel in the event their application is successful and a scholarship is awarded to them, which can include both international and domestic travel.

The judges will base their final decision on both the quality of work submitted, and a well thought out plan on how such a scholarship will help the applicant to take the next step in their career. Full details on how to apply for the scholarship can be found here.

Applications, including examples of work, must be submitted online by Wednesday 17 December 2014.
