Realizing in 2010 that MFA candidates and recent graduates from across the nation had little opportunity to show their work or access the New York art world, FIRST STREET GALLERY took action. We created an exciting new venue, the MFA National Competition, juried each year by a prominent member of the art world. The Juror selects the country’s most talented young artists to exhibit their work in a three week exhibition, which attracts critics, collectors and the art community.

Eligibility: Artists who are or have been enrolled in an MFA program within the last three years in the United States. Eligible works include paintings, drawings, mixed media, prints, sculpture, photography, installations and computer-generated art. No video, film, or giclees.

Venue: First Street Gallery, 526 West 26th Street, Suite 209, New York.
