The competition is to raise awareness and celebrate the diversity and tradition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artwork with an art competition and finalists' exhibition.

The competition is open to all art forms, including; painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery and weaving (except photography and digital artworks). 

Twenty finalists will feature in an Indigenous Art Exhibition and have the chance to share the story behind their submission.

All 20 competition finalists will be flown to Sydney to attend the exhibition opening to share the story behind their artwork. The 2016 theme is Our Communities, encouraging artists to exhibit artwork based on community culture, tradition and story. 

Prizes:

• Major Prize Winner is awarded $3,000 in acquisitive prizes

• Youth Prize –  $1,000 in acquisitive prize
