Formerly known as the Jacaranda Art Prize from 1961 to 1987 and this acquisitive prize led to the development of the collection now housed at the Grafton Regional Gallery. The Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA) aims to promote excellence and innovation in Australian drawing.

The Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA) has been the means by which the Grafton Regional Gallery has gathered a unique and impressive collection of contemporary Australian drawing. The award was established in 1988 and is now a biennial event.

The major acquisitive award is $35,000 with further acquisitions to the value of $10,000.

There is a People's Choice prize of $500
