The Hay Bale Challenge is a call to all Creatives to devise and construct a sculptural artwork made using no more than one small bale of hay.

The artwork can be of any size, but must be capable of being transported and displayed outdoors for two days during The York Festival in York on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th September, 2017.

The completed artwork will be made using a maximum of one Australian standard small bale (900mm x 375mm x 450mm or smaller, max 27kg) of hay, meadow hay, straw or similar (available from most pet supply stores).

Other materials may be incorporated into its construction provided that the artwork, in the opinion of the judges, is inherently a work of hay (or straw). Prize Pool: $1200 Entries Close: 31st August 2018
