This is a biennial event - next due to be held in October 2016.

GCIADA's aims to acknowledge and celebrate the Gold Coast's Indigenous heritage by offering emerging and established local Indigenous artists an opportunity to exhibit and promote their work to the wider community.

Artists are encouraged to submit works which reflect aspects of Aboriginal history and culture of the Gold Coast region.

All artworks submitted are considered also for selection as part of the City Gift Program, providing artists with the opportunity for their artwork to be re-created as gifts/mementos for official visitors to the City and thereby gaining potential local, national and international exposure.

Awards are:

  • GCIADA2006 Overall Winner: (acquisitive) - $3500
  • Youth Award (16 - 21 years) (non- acquisitive) - $1000
  • 2D Award - $1500
  • 3D Award - $1500
  • Photography Award - $1500
  • New Media and Photography Award - $1,500
  • All categories - Highly commended - $500
