The Future Generation Art Prize is a biennial global contemporary art prize to discover, recognise and give long-term support to a future generation of artists. All artists aged from 18 to 35 working in any medium are invited to apply. A highly respected selection committee appointed by a distinguished international jury reviews every application and nominates 20 artists for the shortlist. These artists will be commissioned to create new works on view in exhibitions at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv and the Venice Biennale. The main prize winner receives US $100,000 split between a $60,000 cash prize and a $40,000 investment in their practice. A further $20,000 is awarded as a special prize/s between up to five artists at the discretion of the jury for supporting projects that develop their artistic practice.
Age restriction applies - applicants must be 18-35 years of age at the time of the application.
All dates are estimates.
Prizes
- The Main Prize will be awarded to one artist who will receive the amount of US$ 100,000 from the international jury in the context of an exhibition. The Prize will be split in US$ 60,000 in cash and US$ 40,000 for the investment of new work production.
- Within the framework of selecting the Prize winner, the jury will have the opportunity to additionally award the Special Prize to support young talents. The Special Prize will not be bound to a financial award but rather serve above all to support the further development of the artist in form of residences in different art contexts. Up to US$ 20,000 can be awarded for the Special Prize.
