This is a biennial event - next due in 2014.

The Forestry SA Wood Sculpture Competition is an initiative of Mount Gambier's Riddoch Art Gallery and is hosted biennially. The prizes in the 2006 competition include:

  • a $10,000 ForestrySA Open Prize (acquisitive prize)
  • a $2500 City of Mount Gambier Local Artists Prize (acquisitive prize for entries from within a 200km radius of Mount Gambier
  • $2,500 Sustainability Prize for an artwork made from Recycled and/or Plantation Timber (acquisitive)
  • a $500 Mount Gambier Hoo Hoo Club People's Choice Award

This sculpture prize assists the Riddoch Art Gallery to further its already considerable collection of wood sculpture and decorative arts and also promotes South Australia's timber industry.

Fees and Charges

$35 for each entry (up to 6).

Winners announced on 23rd March 2012.
