The Burnie Print Prize is an initiative of the Burnie Regional Art Gallery in northwest Tasmania. The Gallery has a growing collection of works on paper of which 693 are prints by 233 Australian artists.

The Burnie Print Prize has been established as an acquisitive award to:

  • develop the Gallery's print collection
  • bring the best of contemoporary printmaking within Australia to public view
  • support artists who work with the print medium
  • foster inovation in the print medium
  • prmote an appreciation of the fine art of printmaking recognising and celebrating its immense craftsmanship and exploring the expressive and aesthetic possibilities of the medium in contemporary practice.

  • Burnie Print Prize - $17,000 acquisitive prize.
  • Emerging Artists Award - $5,000
  • People's Choice - $1,000
