Bruny Prize

‘The Bruny’ is a unique national art prize, focused specifically on painting that explores concepts of identity and environment.

In 2018, the theme is Art of Adaptation. The 2018 Bruny Prize is expanding to become a major arts event for the whole Kingborough region of Tasmania.

The major prize of $20,000 is sponsored by Kingborough Council and Tassal.

The Highly Commended award of $1500 is sponsored by Audi Centre Hobart.

The People's Choice Award is sponsored by Adart Hobart, with an art supplies voucher valued at $500.

Three judges of national and international standing are appointed to select the winning entry. Shortlisted paintings are shown at an exhibition on Bruny Island, with the winner announced at the exhibition opening.
