This is a biennial prize held every even year.

2022 - 531 entries received with 58 finalists.

The idea of putting Alice Springs on the map by holding a national art competition was conceived in 1969, and in 1970 the first Alice Prize was born.

The Alice Springs Art Foundation administers the Alice Prize, a national contemporary art award. The acquisition of works from the exhibition continues to build a significant art collection for the Alice Springs community.  The Alice Prize is not restricted to any particular medium, genre, subject matter or theme.
