This is a biennial prize held on even years.

A non-acquisitive competition and exhibition for women over 18 who are NSW residents. Women are asked to explore the theme for the competition of "Origins & identity at Merooga" making original use of their selected media. The prize awards a diverse and original use of media, the the practice of traditional women's arts and crafts in a contemporary context.

The prize is open to artworks in any style or medium, with the exception of materials that are dangerous, sharp, wet or perishable.

  • First prize - $7000 + SLM Membership + Bundanon Trust artist-in-residence scholarship
  • Second prize - $1,500 and a SLM Membership & solo exhibition @ the Shoalhaven Regional Gallery, Nowra
  • Highly Commended - $1,500  and a SLM membership
  • People's Choice - $500 and a SLM membership
