Established in 1987, the churchie emerging art prize (‘the churchie’) is Australia’s longest running award for emerging artists. ‘the churchie’ is dedicated to promoting innovation and excellence across art and has launched the careers of some of Australia’s most renowned artists. Each year emerging artists from across Australia are selected as finalists who present a diverse range of evocative and mesmerising artworks for the exhibition. This year Metro Arts is proud to host this prestigious Australian art prize and exhibition.
